MEET SUSIE NOVAK

SUSIE NOVAK

Trained as an artist, Susie believes herself to be one at heart. She’s worked in the art world in both New York and San Francisco, before transitioning into interior design. After receiving her certificate from the Interior Design and Architecture program at UC Berkeley, attempting and then executing a few interior projects, she began Susie Novak Interiors.

Susie loves styling her own home, venturing to new cities, tasting new wines, and collecting interesting art and objects. She and her husband purchased a fixer-upper home in Oakland where they live now with their two daughters. The Novak Tudor has been a labor of love and continues to abound with design projects.

With quite a number of home renovations and various decorating projects under her belt, Susie’s work has been featured in national and international press including: Architectural Digest, The Wall Street Journal, 25 Beautiful Homes, Archello, Sunset Magazine, Modern Luxury Silicone Valley, and Rue Magazine.

Karly, Designer

Karly pursued her childhood dreams of becoming an interior designer and has spent the last 11 years working at high end residential firms throughout California. A spatial planning expert, she loves making the most of a home to maximize layout and functionality. Following her love of the outdoors she spent 4 years working as a designer in Lake Tahoe. Her heaven consists of hiking to new swimming holes, hot spring hunting, camping in her roof tent with her fluffy pup, and eating her grandmas homemade tortellini.

Alden, Junior Designer

“Growing up in Hood River, Oregon has instilled a love for embracing and cherishing the natural environment. As an aspiring architect and B.Arch graduate from California College of the Arts, I’ve become inspired by the possibilities of renovation, restoration, and adaptive reuse. I hope to accomplish insightful and caring forethought that allows current and future generations to dwell sustainably and creatively!”
