FOUNDER &
PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
Susie Novak is the Founder & Principal Designer of Susie Novak Interiors, a residential design studio located in the Bay area. Known for her signature balance of contrasts — homes that are simultaneously vibrant yet soothing, luxurious yet liveable, relatable yet aspirational.
After a decade partnering with artists and galleries in New York City and San Francisco, Susie received her certification from the Interior Design and Architecture program at UC Berkeley in 2016. Today, with an artist’s eye, she translates the color, chaos, and beauty of her clients’ lives into environments they can step into and live well in, expertly layering family-friendly spaces that beckon you in and beg you to stay.
Susie calls Oakland, California home where she lives in a 1920s Tudor remodel with her husband and two daughters. Her work has been featured regionally, nationally and internationally in Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, The Wall Street Journal, San Francisco Magazine, Modern Luxury Silicon Valley, Luxe and more.

KARLY, LEAD DESIGNER
Karly pursued her childhood dreams of becoming an interior designer and has spent the last 11 years working at high end residential firms throughout California. A spatial planning expert, she loves making the most of a home to maximize layout and functionality. Following her love of the outdoors she spent 4 years working as a designer in Lake Tahoe. Her heaven consists of hiking to new swimming holes, hot spring hunting, camping in her roof tent with her fluffy pup, and eating her grandma’s homemade tortellini.
ALDEN, JUNIOR DESIGNER
Growing up in Hood River, Oregon has instilled a love for embracing and cherishing the natural environment. As an aspiring architect and B.Arch graduate from California College of the Arts, I’ve become inspired by the possibilities of renovation, restoration, and adaptive reuse. I hope to accomplish insightful and caring forethought that allows current and future generations to dwell sustainably and creatively!

I had a fabulous experience working with Susie. I had recently moved into a newly built high rise apartment in San Francisco and needed HELP. Modern and new were never my vibe but my husband’s dream. Susie did an amazing job working with me to create a “Modern but Comfortable/Cozy’’ vibe for our place which I am in LOVE with.
Susie does a great job understanding what her clients want/need and making that vision come to life, while staying within the budget. She also helped me understand some of the design basics and pushed me out of my comfort zone with some amazing ombre wallpaper in my entryway. I highly recommend Susie for anything that your home needs help with.
